Country Reviews: Five foods real Singaporeans like to eat

1) Durians

Durians, nicknamed the king of fruits by some lovers, are a very special food to Singaporeans. If you had travelled to tropical Singapore and namely Geylang or Chinatown, you would witness locals gorging in the spiky delight. However, many dislike the durian for its pungent smell and rough surface that public transports in Singapore have banned it. Singaporeans indulge in durians because they regard the aroma as fragrant and the meat inside tasty and delicious. There are many types of durians available for purchase in Singapore, from the highly popular D-24 durian to the less popular and much smaller D703 durian. If you are in Singapore, you might as well give the durian a try for it will tingle your taste buds.

Country Reviews: Delicious Food to Eat in Turkey

1. Simit

The first on Country Reviews list would be the very famous Simit. Simit in Turkey is very common but please do not think that it is not nice because of that. Simit is circular bread sprinkled with sesame, something like a donut. However, Simit is very crunchy and chewy compared to donuts and the taste of Simit is excellent. Simits made in Anakara (the capital of Turkey) has high crispiness and it is one of the best Simits that I have had. You can taste Simits in the mornings, where local vendors and restaurants serve Simits that are made freshly every day. Simits could also be bought in all supermarkets in Turkey to allow common folk to eat Simits at the comfort at their own homes. Another great fact about the tasty pastry would be its interoperability with other condiments like jam and cheese. Simits are normally eaten with Turkish Tea, where the tea would have great nutritional properties to its drinkers.

Country Reviews: Interesting Places to Visit in Turkey

1. The Hagia Sophia

The Hagia Sophia, located at the biggest city of Turkey, Istanbul, would be the first on our list for the astounding architecture. Before it was a grand museum like today, it was formerly a church for the Byzantine Empire and Constantinople. Then the Ottomans would come along to lay siege on Constantinople, taking the Hagia Sophia and turning it into an Islamic Mosque. After the fall of the great Ottoman Empire, the first Turkish President reformed it, turning it into a museum for all to lay eyes on the grand and exquisite work.
You should visit the Hagia Sophia because of the unique architecture where marble and mosaics had filled the grand hall. The mosaics that filled the Hagia Sophia also had imagery of various Christian references like the Virgin Mother Mary and his newborn son, Jesus. By reviewing the various mosaics, there are also images of several rulers of the past Byzantine Empire like Emperor Alexander the Second or Empress Zoe. All of the imagery in the dome would make this a must see place for history buffs or those who just want to witness something from the past.

Country Reviews: Singapore, the sunny tropical island of fun

Country Reviews’ Introduction of Singapore:

Country Review noted that Singapore is an island that is situated in a strategic place in Southeast Asia, where Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia surrounds the small island. The island is sunny all year round, with monsoon periods lasting a few months. The cuisine in Singapore is also very unique; many are mixtures from foods from different ethnic groups like the famous Curry Fish Head. Country Review also felt that there are also many interesting things to do in the little red dot, which locals and foreigners emphatically calls it, like a visit to the theme park, shopping the day away, or just enjoy a quiet evening at the beach.
