Luxurious Buffets in Singapore: IKoi Japanese Restaurant

Having tasted many Japanese buffets in my lifetime, there are many degrees of freshness between every one of them. However, the best that I had was at IKoi Japanese Restaurant at Miramar Hotel. The area that Miramar Hotel is located at also has 3 other hotels, the Corpthrone King's Hotel, Riverview Hotel and the Furama Hotel, each with their own different types of buffets. However, IKoi was my top choice with the prompt service and impressive interior design - mirroring the Edo period of Japan.

Country Reviews: Five foods real Singaporeans like to eat

1) Durians

Durians, nicknamed the king of fruits by some lovers, are a very special food to Singaporeans. If you had travelled to tropical Singapore and namely Geylang or Chinatown, you would witness locals gorging in the spiky delight. However, many dislike the durian for its pungent smell and rough surface that public transports in Singapore have banned it. Singaporeans indulge in durians because they regard the aroma as fragrant and the meat inside tasty and delicious. There are many types of durians available for purchase in Singapore, from the highly popular D-24 durian to the less popular and much smaller D703 durian. If you are in Singapore, you might as well give the durian a try for it will tingle your taste buds.

Country Reviews: Singapore, the sunny tropical island of fun Part II

Country Review’s Delicious Foods to Try in Singapore

Country Review’s First on the list: The Chili Crab

Food at home not spicy enough for you? The Chili Crab combines a savory sweetness with a hint of spiciness, meaning that the Chili Crab would absorb the smell and taste of the 2 great flavors together. The Chili Crab is placed into a big plate where the sauce surrounds the succulent crab. The sweet and spicy sauce is used by restaurants for a side dish. The fried buns (or mantou, as the Chinese says it) would be used to scoop up the remaining sauce to indulge in.

Country Reviews: Singapore, the sunny tropical island of fun

Country Reviews’ Introduction of Singapore:

Country Review noted that Singapore is an island that is situated in a strategic place in Southeast Asia, where Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia surrounds the small island. The island is sunny all year round, with monsoon periods lasting a few months. The cuisine in Singapore is also very unique; many are mixtures from foods from different ethnic groups like the famous Curry Fish Head. Country Review also felt that there are also many interesting things to do in the little red dot, which locals and foreigners emphatically calls it, like a visit to the theme park, shopping the day away, or just enjoy a quiet evening at the beach.
