
The vicinity of Sungai Rengit is not anything special. The roadside stalls are mostly vendors selling fruits and amenities; exactly what you would find in a small town. Cars are also a premium in Sungai Rengit meaning that even if you walk in the middle of the road, there will be rarely any danger. However, be warned that the cars in Malaysia are speeding most of the times. Most residents of Sungai Rengit are very friendly where they will say hello to you even when they had never seen you in the town before.
3. Dazzling Seaside of Sungai Rengit
When you think of the glorious seaside, you will most likely recall countries and places like Bali or the Maldives. Sungai Rengit possesses a great seaside as well, with their untainted beaches and golden sand, it will certainly make a great beach vacation. However, be warned that their seaside is eerily quiet, with most of the Sungai Rengit's inhabitants working.
Sungai Rengit also has a small jetty, with many boats and ferries docked onto the seemingly small docking space. If you are lucky enough, you can embark on a fishing trip with one of their fishermen to experience what is it like to catch seafood. They will tell you about stories in the sea and may even cook what they catch for you on the boat. This is not to be missed as freshly caught wildlife are the most delicious.
4. Seafood Meals at Sungai Rengit
If you love seafood, you will be glad to know that Sungai Rengit possesses many seafood restaurants. Sungai Rengit's nickname is the Lobster Village where from that you can guess what is famous there. From the Good Luck Restaurant beside a Shell Petrol Station to the Jade Garden Seafood Restaurant, your choices are spoiled. Their specialities are their steamed lobsters. You can order the waiter/waitress to have the lobsters cooked to your liking (Buttered, Spicy and more) . Caught from the sea directly in front of Sungai Rengit, Their clams are also cooked to perfection, with spicy sambal sauce being cooked together with the clams. The food at Sungai Rengit is also dirt cheap, with a meal for four costing less than 200 Ringgits considering what they serve are all top notch seafood.
In a nutshell, Sungai Rengit is an excellent place to visit to fulfil that seafood craving or if you just want to have a nice relaxing weekend. Their Bak Kut Teh are also famed, meaning that you will have delicious food coming at you from morning to dusk.
