2. Hermes Palace Hotel
Jl. T.Panglima Nyak Makam, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, Banda Aceh, Aceh, Indonesia
Hidden in the middle of Jalan Permuda and Jalan Tengku Pagar Air, the Hermes Palace Hotel boasts a great reputation as the first four star hotel in Banda Aceh. The hotel is also in near proximity to the Banda Aceh's governor office, making any diplomatic visits fast and easy.At a first glance, the Hermes Palace Hotel possessed an unspectacular front, with no innovation for exterior design and the plain looking building might elude some travellers. However, once you entered the Hermes Palace Hotel, your opinion will most definitely change. With its tall and well decorated corridors, coupled with their warm and well lighted lobby, the hotel is set to blow any visitors away.
The 4 stars Hermes Palace Hotel has 5 room types, each for varying degrees of customers. There is first, the Deluxe type, where most amenities that you can find in great hotels are here, the Grand Deluxe, which is basically a bigger Deluxe room, the Junior Suite type, which includes a big living room with sofas to separate sleeping and watching television. The Executive Suite, a bigger Junior Suite with a living room which is separate from the sleeping areas, coupled with flat screen televisions.
The best room in the Hermes Palace Hotel is the Presidential Suite. Apart from having a separate living room, it also has a separate kitchen area with dining tables so that your guests can have a nice meal in your room and the service staff in the hotel will provide to you only the best service which they can afford.
Room Types
Deluxe Room : 117 rooms
Grand Deluxe: 12 rooms
Junior Suite: 20 rooms
Executive Suite: 8 rooms
Presidential Suite: 2 rooms
Another fantastic part of the Hermes Palace Hotel which I really adore is their indoor facilities. Their pool is big and spacious, with turtles surrounding it to symbolize wealth and prosperity. They keep the pool relatively clean for the visitors and the hotel even provide towels for everyone. Their restaurant, the Hermes Cafe, sits more than a hundred people and serves up food all day round, with local delights and food that you may miss back home. The hotel also serves a special type of coffee in their Hermes Lobby Lounge, called the Ulee Kareng Coffee, that tastes very different from normal black coffee.
The Mesjid Raya Baiturranhman is also near the Hermes Palace Hotel, meaning that you can visit one of the top mosques in Asia any time if you are a religious person or someone who loves to see the past architectural works of the Indonesian people.
