Kill A Watt - Great for travelling

Kill A Watt photo

Unlike any other of my posts, for this post I will introduce to you a great device which is great for travelling to different countries which uses different voltage standards or devices with different energy usages. The device is called Kill A Watt.

What Kill A Watt does is that it measures how much energy a particular appliance will consume when you plug it in. Its clear LCD screen will give you the exact number of watts used. This is particularly useful when you go overseas to buy electrical appliances (like toasters or chargers) but not know exactly how much energy they will consume.

Kill A Watt is also useful for other uses, like using it to find out which appliances are actually worth keeping and which are actually sucking off more energy than they are supposed to. Efficiency is a large part of electrical devices, which is why Kill A Watt comes into play with it being able to display the exact cost of electricity being consumed. Kill A Watt can also calculate exactly how much cost is being wasted per minute, hour, day, month or even year.

If you are not a "Watt" person, Kill A Watt also does display its findings in Amperes and Volts, giving you more choice in your quest to save electricity. If that old television is no longer saving energy, Kill A Watt will tell.

You can use Kill A Watt by just plugging it into your receptacle and then plug the plug into Kill A Watt and you will be on your way to analyse how much watts exactly does that appliance use. Kill A Watt is also available for many markets in the world. Although primarily marketed by P3 International for the North American receptacle and plugs, it has since grown in popularity where European and Asian versions have been introduced in the market with great success.
