Country Reviews love the great Maldives. The great sunny beaches, the luxurious resorts and the fresh smelling blue sea; all of them are part of the package in the Maldives. The Maldives is also conveniently located near India, meaning guests could visit the great democracy whenever they want. Maldives was once a British protectorate, converted into an independent republic in 1968. There are dozens of beach resorts in Maldives, with diving being a popular sport amongst tourists in Maldives. Other popular sports also include water skiing, swimming and snorkeling. Country Reviews also loved the fishery industry in Maldives; it allowed fresh seafood to flow into the Maldives market.



Country Reviews’ History of the Maldives


It was the Portuguese that first landed on the Maldives, who tried to spread Christianity amongst the locals. After that, the Dutch who took over the Portuguese as a major power in Ceylon, took control of the Maldives. However, it was the British who firmly took Maldives into her own hands and encourage development of a republic.
However, the Maldivians finally achieved independence under Ibrahim Nasir in November 1968. Maldives was at first concentrated at fishery; however, the fishery business was not profitable. From then on, the Maldives became a very rich country through tourism. Today, governed by President Waheed, it has become a tourism superpower where many foreigners have come to experience the lush flora and fauna.

Country Reviews’ Temperatures throughout the Year in Maldives


The summer in the Maldives is long and they are never gone. It is warm throughout the year but, like Singapore, Maldives is situated near the equator, meaning that it is tropical but still experiences some monsoon periods from November to April and May to October. The average temperature daily is around 27.7 degrees Celsius and average rainfall peaked at 2 meters per annum.
Maldives’ average temperature from January to April: 28.5 degrees Celsius (83.3 Fahrenheit)
Maldives’ average temperature from May to August: 28.9 degrees Celsius (84. Fahrenheit)
Maldives’ average temperature from September to December: 27.9 degrees Celsius (82.2 Fahrenheit)

  1. Great article thanks for sharing it, looks like this is really a nice place, I love to travel I went to the Boracay Island in the Philippines last year and I found a lots of nice beach resorts their like the boracay garden truly a nice place.
