Fresh Japanese food are a hard find outside of Japan. However, the Shogun Japanese Buffet in Kuala Lumpur provides quality Japanese food with great service and ambience at a reasonable price. What is more is that Shogun Japanese Buffet is well, a buffet right to its name. They have more than a hundred varieties of foods in their arsenal, including salmons, crabs and sushi.
Buffets are sometimes devoid of quality, preferring to choose quantity over it. The Shogun Japanese Buffet has a way of combining the 2 together to create affordable yet tasty Japanese food for everyone.
Shogun Japanese Buffet's Food
Like I said before, the Shogun Japanese Buffet has more than 100 variety of Food, incorporating Japanese, Chinese and even Western cuisine into their menu. Some great food that the Shogun Japanese Buffet offer are the Buddha Jump Over the Wall. This soup may seem familiar to those accustomed to Chinese culture. It is a broth brewed for many hours over a slow fire, giving it an extremely smooth taste. However, the Shogun Japanese Buffet cooked this a little bland, so it might be okay to those with mild taste buds.
The Shogun Japanese Buffet also serves the all famous Raw Salmon Slices (Sashimi). While freshly cut and tasting excellent, it is often the most snapped up by locals and tourists alike, for its authenticity to Japan and for its raw taste.
Another excellent dish that the Shogun Japanese Buffet serve up is their Chinese styled crabs where the crabs are cooked in a sauce to release the taste of it. Delicious, but it is hard to pry open the shells. Steamed Prawns and Tempura are a mainstay in the Shogun Japanese Buffet with many selections of sushi rolls and nigiri displayed colourfully on plates. If you are minding the carbohydrates, do not consume too many of these as it will make you bloated with the abundance of rice.

Shogun Japanese Buffet's Desserts
I feel that the desserts served at Shogun Japanese Buffet will need a separate section due to their exquisite sweet confectionery being so good. They serve up puddings on avocado where the fruity taste will wash your mouth after the pudding's sweetness has entered it. Mochi of different colours are also featured in the Shogun Japanese Buffet. This Japanese pastry is covered with flour and while biting it will spill out the savoury contents inside.
Their ice creams are another dessert which were adored by many. The Shogun Japanese Buffet has more than 5 flavours, where their vanilla coffee, chocolate mint and raspberry caught my eye. You can choose between all of them (free-flow) and fill them up in your cup. Puddings and Cakes also fill their aisle, with the rainbow coloured cakes particularly being an indulgent for many of the customers at the Shogun Japanese Buffet.
Shogun Japanese Buffet's Decor
The whole restaurant is designed with an eye to olden Japanese customs, with teak and wood surrounding all of the furniture in the buffet. Japanese lanterns also fill the entrance of the buffet and even the seats are wood. The dishes are all presented with beautiful art. For example, the raw salmon slices served have a flower beside the plate. The seats are soft velvet coloured sofas with staff dressed like rustic Japanese waiters and waitresses.
