Country Reviews: Singapore, the sunny tropical island of fun

Country Reviews: Singapore, the sunny tropical island of fun

Country Reviews’ Introduction of Singapore:

Country Review noted that Singapore is an island that is situated in a strategic place in Southeast Asia, where Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia surrounds the small island. The island is sunny all year round, with monsoon periods lasting a few months. The cuisine in Singapore is also very unique; many are mixtures from foods from different ethnic groups like the famous Curry Fish Head. Country Review also felt that there are also many interesting things to do in the little red dot, which locals and foreigners emphatically calls it, like a visit to the theme park, shopping the day away, or just enjoy a quiet evening at the beach.

Country Review’s History of Singapore

In 1819, Singapore is founded by Sir Stamford Raffles, who with William Farquhar, came to Singapore to establish a port in order to allow easier movements for the British Ships. Since then, Singapore had flourished for being a stellar port of call for ships due to its strategic location. After the Allies won against the Axis, Singapore was returned to the British in 1945. Discontented being a colony for the British, Singapore gained full independence on 1965 after being separated after a brief merger with Malaysia. It has since witnessed a industrialized revolution from a small nation in turmoil to one of the Four Asian Tigers, renowned for being an advanced country famous for being an International Financial Center.

Country Review’s Temperatures throughout the year in Singapore

Singapore generally has very high temperatures throughout the calendar year, due to its proximity to the equator. Thus, for tourists, it would be prudent to bring sunscreen or sunglasses if you are susceptible to the sun’s rays. The country does not experience the four seasons but does have a monsoon rain period during November to December where there is a heavy torrential downpour. The sun would also be hotter during the April to June periods.

Singapore’s average temperature from January to April: 28.4 degrees Celsius (83.3 Fahrenheit)

Singapore’s average temperature from May to August: 29.2 degrees Celsius (84.6 Fahrenheit)

Singapore’s average temperature from September to December: 27.9 degrees Celsius (82.2 Fahrenheit)
