Best Buffets in Singapore 2012: Barossa's Australian Beef Buffet

Australia is one of my favourite places to visit with the beautiful sandy beaches, the hot and shiny sun and the gorgeous girls. There is no doubt that Australians also knows how to cook their beef as well. As one of the best buffets in Singapore 2012, Barossa's Australian Beef Buffet will be sure to delight any passing foodies.

There are two branches of Barossa in Singapore, one which resides currently in Holland Village and the other one in the Esplanade Mall. They have 5 cuts of premium steaks for you to choose from, like the delicious Wagyu Rump and the voracious Australian T-Bone. The service at Barossa's Beef Buffet was also impeccable, with their waiters and waitresses always around for you to order. It is no wonder that they are one of the best buffets in Singapore which I had tasted to date.

Barossa's branch at Holland Village also has a bar counter, where many come to sit around for their fantastic beer and steak. Barossa's Buffet also has numerous kinds of side dishes for the customer to enjoy. If you need some vegetables to go with the gamely steak, then why not have a taste of their smooth and milky creamed spinach or their famous Barossa Salad.

Their famous Barossa Salad has many fruits and vegetables like dried cranberries, nuts and cherry tomatoes. One of their side dishes, the mashed potatoes are of a pale yellow colour. However, when you taste the yellowish goodness, you will realize that it does not dry your throat like other mashed potatoes do, but it will melt in your mouth instantly. Another of their side dishes, the Creamed Spinach, is baked in the oven and presented to the customers hot and steaming. The spinach is covered in cheese and butter, which were melted in the oven's heating process. It combined with the spinach's bitter taste perfectly and presented itself as a great appetizer.

Without a doubt, their Wagyu Rumps are the most sought after dish in the entire restaurant with many diners clamouring for it. The meat was tender with its pinkish interior showing out. However, there were still a few veins inside of the steak which was not a problem because the rump itself was delightful. My second serving was much nicer and more fatter which adds onto the original taste of the rump itself. Nonetheless, you will need to be warned that the steak is pan-fried and not grilled, so the rump itself may seem a little oily than usual.

Barossa also serves up the reputed Australian Prime Ribs, with the gigantic meat on the table, finishing it certainly will be a chore. When the ribs are bitten with the teeth, you will be able to feel the succulent juices of the rib itself gushing out into your taste buds. With such a huge serving, you will not need to be worried about not being satisfied at all. Despite that, some of their Australian Prime Ribs may contain sinews, which would make it tough and stringy for a normal person to sink their teeth into.

My first impression of Barossa was that it is a place for hot blooded males to gorge themselves in steak. However, it changed greatly when the restaurant was visited; the place was of rustic old Australian steakhouse style. Barossa's Australian Beef Buffet had certainly grown into me and become one of the best buffets in Singapore for 2012.
